	Guidelines for Posting Volunteer Opportunities	0	Nicole M. Banks	This forum is intended as a place where NC AWWA-WEA committees can post volunteer opportunities and recruit volunteers. Post not directly related to recruiting volunteers for NC AWWA-WEA committees or activities will be removed. Committee Leaders When posting a volunteer opportunity, please be as specific as possible. It is suggested that you include a brief description of the task you need completed along with any special skills required, the time frame for completing the task, the amount of time the task is estimated to take, location if applicable, and whom the reader should contact if they are interested in volunteering. If you do not wish to include your contact information on this forum, please at least include your name or the name of your committee so that NC AWWA-WEA staff can help the interested volunteer get in touch with you. 	Volunteers Needed for Institute Training in Raleigh	0	Nicole M. Banks	The Seminars & Workshops Committee is organizing an Institute training in Raleigh on August 3-4, 2016. The agenda will cover both water and wastewater topics. The committee is looking for volunteers to help develop the agenda, recruit and organize speakers, and to assist on-site during the day of the training. 	SJPW Volunteers June 17-18 in Charlotte	0	Nicole M. Banks	The Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) is the world’s most prestigious award for a water-related science project at the high school level. The U.S. national competition brings together the winners of each state SJWP competition, who represent the best and brightest science research students from across the U.S, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This year’s competition will be held on June 17-18, 2016 in Charlotte, NC. YOUR HELP is needed to make this year’s event a success. Volunteers are needed in the following areas: Coaches: The role of the volunteer coach is to provide a support mechanism that increases the quality of the student’s experience and leaves a positive, long-lasting impression. Each coach acts as a mentor, and he or she may end up being the inspiration for a student scientist who chooses a career in water quality. The commitment would be Friday, June 17 – Saturday, June 18. Airport Greeters: These volunteers would greet the students in the baggage claim area of the airport and escort them to the transportation to the university that will be provided by WEF. These volunteers are needed Friday, June 17. Office/Administrative Help: This position will assist WEF representatives with various miscellaneous tasks. Volunteer(s) are needed the evening of Thursday, June 16 – Saturday, June 18. I have tried to group them by committee or event and list them below. Wastewater Collections and Water Distribution Systems Committee · We are looking for a committee member to help coordinate lunch seminars with the hosts of our bi-monthly meetings. We would like to bring in a lunch speaker to talk about a subject of interest of the municipality. · Looking for a committee member to help promote the Golden Manhole Award at Institute or Academy events.
